Mr. Tarun Chakraborty is a graduate Civil Engineer having Master Degree in Environmental Engineering and a citizen of India by birth. He has 34 years of professional experience in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering. During the tenure of professional services, He was involved in a number of Infrastructure Projects in India, Bhutan, Rwanda, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Mongolia mainly related to Rural and Urban Water Supply and Treatment, Sewerage and Sanitation, Urban Drainage and Solid Waste Management. Many of these projects were funded by various Multilateral Funding Agencies such as ADB, WB, DFID, JICA, KfW, UNICEF, GTZ, AUSAID and USAID apart from the different Ministries of Government of India and other State Governments in India. In addition, He has gained experience in Construction Supervision and Quality Control. He has acquired valuable experience in working with a number of National and International Consultancy Organizations in various prestigious projects and held key positions. Also, he has experience in working in few environmental health projects related to climate change, polio eradication and sustainable city development. He has worked in a number of Government projects in India, Bhutan, Mongolia, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Rwanda. In addition, He worked in the capacity of Individual Consultant for the ADB and UNICEF. Major activities in the projects mainly include but not limited to: Field Study, Data Collection, Formulation of Strategy, Planning and Policy, Mapping, Design and Drawings, Cost Estimation, Procurement, Construction Supervision and Project Management, Office Management, Quality monitoring and Control, Compilation, Preparation and Review of reports and Transfer of Knowledge. He has also led a team of professionals and managed a few multisector projects funded by the Asian Development Bank and World Bank in India and abroad. He has been working as an Independent Consultant for the last 19 years. Apart from the professional engagements, He was also associated with the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India, as Adjunct Professor in the Environmental Science and Engineering Department of the Institute during the period from 2011 to 2013. He is associated as a member with a number of professional societies/institutions in India such as Institutions of Engineers (IEI), Consultancy Development Center (CDC), Institution of Public Health Engineers (IPHE) and Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI).
