
Adnan AminuAgro Business Expert
Adnan is an agricultural researcher, academic, and consultant with over 15 years’ experience in the agricultural sector in Nigeria, Ghana, Niger, Afghanistan, UK and Belgium. He is a creative and enthusiastic Agronomist and Bio-Science Engineer with experiences in the agricultural industry, academia and development. He has experience in designing and carrying out field (on-farm and on-station) and laboratory experiments with respect to crops, soil and water relations. Adnan is also experienced in developing agronomic strategies for enhanced food production; development and strengthening of agricultural value chains; development and management of both small- and large-scale agribusinesses, and provision of agricultural market linkages. His experience in the agricultural sector cuts across crop production, agricultural inputs market and business, irrigation agronomy, horticulture, soil and water management, agricultural economics and extension, environmental impact analysis, modelling of soil-plant-water-environment systems, agro-meteorology and agricultural biotechnology. Adnan has consulted and participated in projects with emphasis on agricultural production, agribusiness, development of agro-processing zones, irrigation schemes and many more. He studied BSc Botany with specialization in Plant Physiology in University of Maiduguri, an MSc in Agronomy from Bayero University Kano, and a PhD in BioScience Engineering from Catholic University Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium. Adnan is currently leading a team on implementing Climate Smart Agriculture projects in Northern Nigeria under the LINKS project with funding from UKAID.
