Abdul is an infrastructure investment, finance and PPP transaction professional with over 15 years’ industry experience in Africa, Asia and the UK. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Certified PPP Specialist with proven leadership skills and the ability to build, motivate and drive teams to deliver both at strategic and operational levels. He is experienced in managing and leading investment and transaction teams right from the development stage through to fundraising/procurement and subsequently financial close. He provides added value in the investment process linking the technical, financial and legal work streams.He has experience in identifying and screening PPP opportunities, preparation of business cases including technical feasibility assessments, deal and financial structuring, and financial and economic modelling, value for money assessments and affordability analysis. He has conducted market sounding, led the preparation of procurement documents, managed the PPP bid process, and facilitated the process to achieve contract and financial close. His experience also covers project monitoring during the implementation phase.Abdul is also experienced in developing regional and country strategies for PPP, assessment and reform of the policy, legal, institutional and regulatory environment to facilitate private sector investment in infrastructure and capacity development.
